Unfortunately one more meeting with Stark and his lawyers made Hope late for the official opening cocktail party for the Expo. She felt terrible. She was always on time by nature but she knew Loki was waiting for her. It drove her mad to keep someone waiting.
The instant she stepped in the party she started to look for him. He should have been easy to see. He was taller than average and yet, as she moved through the crowd of colleagues and people she desperately wanted to talk to she couldn’t spot Loki.
When she came to the balcony she finally saw him and stopped short. He was in a tux, his hair shorter than usual. He looked… amazingly handsome. Loki wasn’t paying attention to the crowd around him but looked out over the Expo with a bemused expression. Just for a moment she enjoyed the view as well.
It was almost like he could tell she was looking and he turned his head, catching her eyes. Hope blinked, blushing slightly at being caught admiring him. Lord, they were just figuring out this friendship thing. Now was not the time for silly feelings.
Her silly feelings didn’t listen as he walked towards her with a slight smile and an eyebrow raised. “I thought you would keep me waiting all night.”
“I apologize, Mr. Stark kept me with a few more question about things.”
“Just one more reason for me to dislike the man.” He took his hand from his hands from his pockets and offered her his arm. She was surprised he knew the human mannerism. Her blush was just her embarrassment over being late. Really.
